Are you stressed, anxious or depressed. Do you have relationship issues. Perhaps you are confused or are experiencing emotional problems. I can help. I am now based in Beeston in Nottingham having spent many years working in Hong Kong both in schools and in private practice. I work in Nottingham City Centre in a bright, open room primarily on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sessions last for 50 minutes and cost 45 pounds (negotiable in certain circumstances). A counselling agreement clearly sets out the parameters of the counselling relationship and outlines your part as well as my own in forging a successful working relationship. Areas of Practice
If you have temporary problems in living you will be supported and be guided towards making appropriate decisions for your future happiness and well-being based on your values and priorities. You will be empowered and explore what is important to you in order to achieve your personal goals in a relaxed, secure yet focused environment. Sessions last for 50 minutes and a contract will be drawn up to agree on a number of sessions. This contract may be adapted if necessary. Your safety and well-being are at the centre of the process.
Young children can use a range of tactile strategies to express themselves and Play Therapy helps them form and shape what they wish to address. Children can be counselled either as individuals or in groups or classes. Schools can contract in on either an occasional and/or regular basis.
Teenagers can work best either in groups or as individuals and specialised strategies and materials can help them navigate through the pressures of their transformation from childhood to adulthood.
Learning from a young age how mindfulness can help lead a meaningful and happy life helps children to embed the skills needed to live life to the full on their own terms. Several programmes can be tailored to meet the needs and requirements of individuals, groups, classes or whole schools using one of a number of approved and proven highly effective programmes.
In adults, mindfulness training has been shown to improve health and wellbeing. People of all ages report that after taking mindfulness courses they have found that they can learn more effectively. Think more clearly. Perform better and feel calmer, less anxious and less depressed.
Modern neuroscience has made many breakthroughs . These often confirm much we already know about ancient wisdom but have also shown how a combination of emotional control and perspective taking can help people of all ages flourish and succeed. A ten-session programme of one hour per workshop based on the additive model of Positive Psychology can empower individuals to achieve enhanced levels of happiness and life satisfaction
